The cause of death is still unknown but Vader had undergone three heart surgeries in recent months. However, he was positive and was willing to fight again in a ring.
For about two years, the legendary wrestler had been battling congestive heart failure. This was a product of the heart’s inability to pump the amount of blood needed for the body. As a result, fluid can accumulate in the legs, lungs and other tissues of the body.
In his long career started in 1985, Big Van Vader competed in companies like New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), WCW or WWF. In the Japanese company, he won the IWGP Heavyweight Championship three times the same number of times he won the WWF World Heavyweight Championship. Considered one of the best fighters of the 90s. the name of Vader has been rumored for years to enter the WWE Hall of Fame.
