Built to Destroy will be the next pay per view (PPV) of Defiant Wrestling. This event will take place in the Union of Students of the University of Northumbria next Sunday, June 17. It is the third edition of the first PPV in the history of the company. Defiant has confirmed on Saturday, May 12 through his Twitter account the return of Will Ospreay for this great event.
Ospreay formed with Scott Wainwright the team known as Swords of Essex that managed to be tag team champions of WCPW (former name of Defiant). In addition, he reached the final of the Pro Wrestling World Cup 2017 where he succumbed in the final against Kushida. Its last appearance was in Loaded #34 where it participated in a triple threat by equipment. Ospreay teamed up with South Coast Connection (Ashley Dunn & Kelly Sixx) to face the Bullet Club (Marty Scurll & The Young Bucks) and The Prestige (Joe Hendry, BT Gunn & Joe Coffey) which had the latter team as the winner.
A day before that match Will Ospreay faced Joe Hendry for the WCPW World Championship in Refuse to Lose 2017. That match was won by Marty Scurll who traded his Magnificent 7 Briefcase to take the victory and the title.
Ospreay is after Martin Kirby one of the most beloved fighters by Defiant fans. Four of his matches at WCPW received good grades from Dave Meltzer. Ospreay vs. Drew Galloway in Exit Wounds (1/4 stars), Ospreay vs. Rey Mysterio in the second round of the Pro Wrestling World Cup ( 1/2 stars), Ospreay vs. Ricochet in the semifinals of the Pro Wrestling World Cup ( 3/4 stars) and Ospreay vs. Kushida in the final of the Pro Wrestling World Cup (1/2 stars).
Built to Destroy’s anteroom will be Road to Destroy which will take place at The Plug club in the city of Sheffield. This show will be taped on Monday, May 28 and will be broadcast on Saturday, June 2 through Access Defiant and FITE TV. This show will be available for free on the Defiant YouTube channel later.
