Chris Jericho On Whether He Considers Himself a Legend

Chris Jericho recently interviewed by TV Insider Scott Fishman. below are the highlights…

On whether he considers himself a legend:

“I think it would be very gil ****** to call myself a legend. Many people say that I am. And if someone says that, I appreciate it very much. I feel more than grateful to accept those words. It is very difficult to assign yourself the name of legend. Although once, I called myself a living legend in WWE in 2004, when my character definitely believed that he was a legend.”

On what is needed for someone to be classified as a legend before their eyes:
“The word “legend” is used in a very easy way nowadays, making it consider a synonym as “amazing” or “genius.” “Oh, look, he’s a genius, he’s amazing.” If you go to Australia, all the world calls you legend. They tell you; “Can you give me a beer? Thank you, you’re a legend, colleague. You open the door to someone, you are already a legend. For me, really and a legend is someone who has a story, which everyone knows. Butch Cassidy is a legend because from my point of view I think there are many people, who are not very sure if he is real, but he is. Someone who has a true story and a story behind him is bigger than life itself in many ways.”
