In November 2017, AJ Styles won his second WWE title by defeating Jinder Mahal. The “Phenomenal One” had become the first wrestler in the history of the federation to win the supreme title on British soil during an episode of Smackdown Live.

This weekend, AJ will put his belt back into play against Samoa Joe “Samoan Submission Machine”.

Currently, AJ Styles has been a major champion for exactly 282 days, making him the wrestler with the longest reign in history as WWE Champion at Smackdown Live.

The previous record was set by JBL for the period 2004-2005. It’s also the longest reign since CM Punk dominated the company for 434 days.
