At Summerslam, Roman Reigns became WWE Universal Champion after his victory over Brock Lesnar. Paul Heyman’s client is now focused on his next fight at the UFC, a new big hurdle is already on the road to the champion. Wanting to win the belt at any cost, Braun Strowman has been targeting Roman Reigns since his success at the summer show.
The “Monster Among Men” will also have an opportunity to win the main title of the red show on September 16th at the Hell in a Cell show.
For the moment, Strowman’s victory for the Universal title would not be in the plans as Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso said. The latter reported that once Braun Strowman is no longer facing Roman Reigns, Drew McIntyre should take his place.
The Scottish Colossus is seen by many as a future world champion and according to Jim Ross, it would be only a matter of time. As usual, the plans can be changed by the WWE but given the programming of future shows, Strowman and McIntyre should turn around Roman Reigns at least until the Super Show-Down on October 6th.
