Did Matt Hardy Officially Announce his Retirement During a Live Event?

As we previously reported, Matt Hardy has certainly retired and would have made his last televised match at SummerSlam 2018. Matt is now a producer behind the scenes of WWE.

On September 7th, during a live event in Birmingham, Alabama, The Deleters Of Worlds made their team comeback to take part in a Tag Team Triple Threat Match for the RAW tag team titles held by Dolph Ziggler & Drew McIntyre.

According to the Wrestling Observer report about the event, a fan asked Matt Hardy not to retire but he told him this:

“Unfortunately, I do not have a choice. It was definitely my last match.”

The wrestler then fought for 2 more dates on September 8th and 9th. Since then, it has not been used. So it’s probably the end for half of the Hardy Boyz.
