A few days ago it was published that WWE could be bringing Rey Mysterio back for the month of September, now things seem to have changed.
It seems we can see Rey Mysterio return to the WWE before fall. It was recently reported that Rey could make his return to WWE under a contract in September of this year.
Dave Meltzer confirmed on Wrestling Observer Radio that the return could happen before September. Everything is still in the air and depends on what WWE offers, in terms of the duration of the contract and the money.
After making his debut at New Japan Pro Wrestling this weekend, Meltzer believes Rey will end up working on the NJPW show on July 7 at the legendary Cow Palace in San Francisco, but now there are obvious speculations that Rey will possibly return to WWE in time for SummerSlam in August.
Recall that Rey Mysterio was one of the surprises at the Royal Rumble this year when he entered the 27th place of it, being completely unexpected. It was rumored with the presence of King in the Greatest Royal Rumble but the wrestler was injured.
Remember that just yesterday, Saturday, Rey Mysterio made his debut in NJPW in a three-on-three match where he was accompanied by Hiroshi Tanahashi and Jushin Thunder Liger against Cody, Marty Scrull & Hangman Page.
To Rey’s disgrace, his team could not take the victory in the match and it was Cody who with his cross Rhodes on Jushin Thunder Liger gave the victory to his team.
Now we will have to see who will be his rival in the Cow Palace event in San Francisco, although seen what happened yesterday, it would not be surprising that this was Marty Scrull himself.
