WWE Blocked Neville’s Departure to Prevent it from Setting a Precedent

Former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville would have terminated his contract with the company. During the last few days, information about his departure has emerged with media such as PWInsider, Pro Wrestling Sheet and Wrestling Observer Newsletter confirming the departure of the wrestler.

At the moment the company has not made it official but they have moved their profile on WWE to the Alumni section, a movement that takes place when a talent is dismissed.

The journalist specialized Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter offers a new update in the most recent edition of the Observer. It is reported that WWE would have forced the fighter to endure so long without leaving the company because they wanted to set a precedent. The reason is so that other talents in staff do not follow their steps, planting and leaving to other companies such as New Japan Pro-Wrestling company that seems the goal of Neville after WWE.

It should be remembered that Neville’s contract has been frozen for the past 10 months. The last appearance of Neville was on September 26 last year, after which it was reported that the fighter had requested the termination of his contract.

As detailed, Neville would have asked for his departure due to discontent with his situation and how it had been used. After a few months, WWE tried last November to reach a new agreement to the fighter but the negotiations did not come to fruition.

It is unknown when the Nevile contract will end but it is expected that the confirmation of his dismissal will be imminent. Several media highlights that the fighter would leave without the 90-day non-competition clause due to the time he has been away from the company which would allow him to work anywhere.
