WWE will have plans to finally introduce the Tag team Championship for the female superstars in mid-2018, according to the North American portal SportsKeeda. If so, it will be the second title that WWE presents during this season, after the NXT North American Championship that will be held at the NXT TakeOver event: New Orleans.
Apparently, mentioned belts will be presented during the SummerSlam PPV, which will take place next August 19 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn (New York). However, the portal has not added more information about it, even though the rumors come before. Also, it is speculated that WWE will introduce the tag team championship of subsequent cruises of WrestleMania 34.
In spite of everything, this will not be the first time that WWE will have the tag team Championship for the female superstars. The original titles were created in 1983 and were ported by Velvet McIntyre and Desiree Petersen on two occasions, Jumping Bomb Angels (Noriyo Tateno and Itzuki Yamazaki) on one occasion and The Glamor Girls (Leilani Kai and Judy Martin) on two occasions, being these the last ones in showing them after WWE decided to leave the division in 1989.
