Tony Khan fires shots at WWE

AEW owner Tony Khan sends a message to WWE by his Twitter account to President and Chief Revenue Officer Nick Khan, who was interviewed by Ariel Helwani last weekend.

Part of the Helwani conversation saw Nick talk on Wrestilings new approach to progress. He stated that WWE wanted to make the system available for potential stars to know how to get promoted. While making it to the top was always hard, would-be wrestlers should figure out how to start their journey relatively quickly.

Tony Khan tweeted the following shortly after the interview with BT Sport.

While this doesn’t directly reference WWE, the comment is related to talent growth in the professional fight – and AEW’s drastically different policy to WWE.

WWE held its latest round of wrestler trials in Las Vegas over WrestleMania weekend, hiring several new fighters to the Performance Center in the process. It comes at a time of great upheaval for NXT and the PC, with Vince McMahon keen on for young wrestlers going forward and become superstars.

Cena is Done With WWE For Now

According to recent reports, WWE superstar John Cena’s latest run-in WWE has ended following his defeat to Roman Reigns at Saturday night’s SummerSlam. The reason for this is because Cena has responsibilities in Hollywood.

Currently, Cena is only registered for the WWE Smackdown TV tapings at MSG on September 10. There is no news about if he will be in form during that show, however, it appears unlikely at this point.

WWE is currently going to believe that Cena will not be available for them for the near future following movie commitments. As of this writing, there is no word on when he makes a return to WWE.

During his latest run, Cena made more appearances (14) than WWE had hoped for. The timing of his current run helped promote the DC Comics film The Suicide Squad.
