AEW announces the Double or Nothing event for next May 25
All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has held a press conference today in Jacksonville, Florida. The executive vice presidents, Cody Rhodes and the Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) have confirmed the celebration of their second major event, after having performed ALL IN on September 1st.
The new Pay-Per-View (PPV) event organized by the Bucks and Cody, titled Double or Nothing, will be held on May 25 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The venue has a capacity to accommodate more than 17,000 spectators and is recognized as one of the most outstanding stadiums in Las Vegas. The MGM Arena has been the venue for great boxing matches like Evander Holyfield vs. Mike Tyson or Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao
It has also been a key venue for pro-wrestling, with WCW using it to perform Halloween Havoc from 1996 to 2000, as well as hosting several Monday Night Nitro events. At the moment there is no meeting announced for Double Or Nothing, although it has confirmed the presence of Chris Jericho in the show. It is expected that new hires like PAC, MJF, Joey Janela or Britt Baker have appearances on the show.
In addition to announcing Double or Nothing, AEW have confirmed another event, which will take place in Jacksonville. This next show will be partly charitable, donating a large part of the profits to associations of victims of gun violence. No more details of the show, or the venue or when it will be made, but it has been reported that more details will be given in the coming weeks.
