AEW will have to pay to be able to broadcast its programming on TNT

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) will have to pay for their space on television. According to the 411Mania news portal, through an interview with journalist Tony Maglio, the WarnerMedia agreement with AEW would oblige the latter to buy their space in the arena.

This information contrasts completely with the one that journalist Dave Meltzer has been publishing for weeks in the  Wrestling Observer Newsletter, in which he claimed that both Time Warner and another television group were offering “large amounts” of money to AEW to buy their rights. television

Tony Maglio, the editor for The Wrap, was the first journalist who reported on the initial contacts between WarnerMedia and AEW. In his interview with 411Mania, Maglio has explained the following in relation to the future of AEW on television:

“AEW will buy your time on television, with total security, AEW has not shown anything, however excited people are, they have nice T-shirts and an  interesting roster, you know, but they have not shown anything, let’s be realistic,

what I understand, from what the people I’ve talked to explained to me, is that AEW will pay for their time on TNT, instead of being Turner the one that pays AEW for its program.

Maybe a couple of months ago the situation was a bit different, but the reality is that, when you talk to Turner … AEW is very well structured, very established within a giant parent company … But it’s not UFC. It’s not WWE. It is not MLB.

Turner has the MLB. Turner has the NBA. They know what they pay for and, to this day, AEW has much more to prove than Turner. AEW needs this agreement more than Turner. “
