Impact Wrestling contacts beIN Sports to air in 2019

During the last weeks it has been reported that I mpact Wrestling would be in the process of searching for a new television network to host its weekly show. Chains such as SyFy, TruTV and WGN have been in the company’s focus for 2019.

However, new information shows that Impact will also have contacted another interesting option. Dave Meltzer in the last edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, says that Impact has contacted beIN Sports, the international sports network owned by the Al Jazeera group.

The problem of trying to negotiate with beIN Sports is that they currently have an exclusivity agreement with Major League Wrestling (MLW) in the United States , confirmed by its president, Court Bauer. The reason that Impact, like other pro-wrestling projects have been interested in MLW, is that they are willing to broadcast that content in prime time, as they do with MLW every Friday.

At the moment Impact is still contacting other television channels, but there is no one that is considering adding the content of the company to its broadcasting grid. Impact is still being broadcast in Pop TV, with whom they have an agreement until the end of the year. Even so, Impact has reached an agreement with Pop, continuing the emissions until the company ends up reaching a contract.

As reported by PWInsider, in case the negotiations with other channels fail, Impact will opt for the renewal with Pop TV, despite the recent disagreements with the chain, such as the decision to move the Impact schedule without consulting the company beforehand.
