NJPW
Chris Jericho could Appear at the G1 Special in San Francisco
As reported by the journalist Dave Meltzer in the last newsletter of the Wrestling Observer which assures that Jericho will be one of the great claims of the event. The reason given is the low rate of ticket sales that is occurring.
The promoter New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) is preparing for its next event in the United States on June 7, and despite having a great pace of sales in the first days, they have only managed to sell half of the site. The pavilion will be the Historic Cow Palace of San Francisco with a capacity of 10,000 fans.
Another reason given by Dave Meltzer is the little publicity that is taking place. Although it was announced a few days ago that AXS TV will give the event live, the promoter has not announced much more. It is also not known that fighters will be present at the event.
Chris Jericho will face Tetsuya Naito for the IWGP Intercontinental Championship in one of the great events of the Japanese promoter: Dominion. According to Meltzer, if Y2J ends up being victorious, the possible rematch will take place in the G1 Special. However, NJPW is considering appearing equally in an inter-promotional fight.
Another of the rumored fighters for the event is Rey Mysterio, although more details have not been revealed yet.
