Hiroshi Tanahashi renews his contract with New Japan Pro-Wrestling

Hiroshi Tanahashi confirmed through his social networks that he has decided to renew his contract with New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), ensuring his continuity in the Japanese company during 2019.

A few days after his match at Wrestle Kingdom 13, Tanahashi posted a photo on his Twitter account with the following comment: “Contract renewed with New Japan Pro-Wrestling, I will give my best next year!” No details have yet been revealed regarding the new contract signed by Tanahashi, but his words assure us that the winner of G1 Climax 28 will continue to provide his services to NJPW during the course of next year.

Hiroshi Tanahashi has returned to the main plane of the Japanese company after consecrating as G1 Climax 28 winner for the third time by defeating Kota Ibushi in the grand final held in August. With this triumph, Tanahashi won a contract to challenge IWGP heavyweight champion Kenny Omega at Wrestle Kingdom 13 on January 4, 2019. His performance during 2018 made the journalists of the famous Japanese newspaper Tokyo Sports choose him as the best wrestler of the year for the fourth time in his career.
