AJ Styles eyeing two main eventers for WrestleMania 37

AJ Styles might have the nickname ‘The Phenomenal One’ – and rightly so – however it appears he is looking to put it to the test once again when WrestleMania 37 comes around.

Having headlined the previous edition of the main event in a match against The Undertaker – which would happen to be the Deadman’s last match ever – and putting in a performance that left everyone with dropped jaws, Styles is keen to continue headlining the biggest event on the calendar.

He has faced the likes of Chris Jericho, Shane McMahon, Shinsuke Nakamura and Randy Orton as well at previous WrestleMania’s and it appears he is determined to add another top WWE name to the list of performers he has competed against.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Styles revealed he wants a match against either Triple H or Edge at WrestleMania 37. Indeed, if a match like this was to happen, it would certainly make the cost of watching the Pay-Per-View worth every single penny. Indeed, many experts from betting24.se would also be in agreement with this take.

Although he admitted that he would rather face Drew McIntyre for the WWE title as his preference, the two legends would make do.

Styles told talkSPORT: “Well, if it can’t be Drew McIntyre [for the WWE title], give me Edge. If it can’t be Edge, give me Triple H. There’s a number of guys that are willing to step up and it can be any one of those.”

Styles and McIntrye recently squared off in the ring for the WWE title, although the Scottish champion managed to retain the gold on that occasion.

Speaking about the possibility of going up against Edge, ‘The Phenomenal One’ suggested that it could be “payback” as he was on the receiving end of ‘The Rated R Superstar’s’ patented Spear finisher in the WWE Royal Rumble.

“I’m telling you, I want Edge. I got some payback to get from the Royal Rumble. I got some payback to get from that spear. So it’s time to get some payback!”

Nothing has yet come of these claims and desires, although if WWE were smart with their booking, they should look to make at least one of these contests happen as it will be a real money booster for the business and provide a main event many will not be able to forget for a very long time.
