The Bullet Club is going through its biggest conflict to date, a “Civil War”. The next chapter of this conflict will be written on Saturday, April 7, in the city of New Orleans, Louisiana. The news that was advanced a few hours ago by the YouTube channel “Being The Elite” has been confirmed officially by the company Ring of Honor Wrestling (ROH). In Supercard of Honor XII, Cody Rhodes and Kenny Omega will face each other in a single combat.

Since its inception, the Bullet Club has been characterized by having great leaders who were replaced at some point. First, it was Prince Devitt (Finn Bàlor in WWE), then it was AJ Styles and now it’s Kenny Omega’s turn. The big difference is that, on this occasion, Omega remains in New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) and will have to face Cody in a fight for supremacy.

This individual duel has been taking shape for some time. During the last months, the tensions between Cody and Omega have been increasing. At first it seemed that the situation was controlled; however, during the final moments of the New Beginning in Sapporo Night 2 event, Cody decided to take action and attack the person who considers that he has stopped acting as a leader, Kenny Omega.

This combat will take place in what is called to be the largest ROH event to date. Supercard of Honor XII will take place over the weekend of WrestleMania 34 and, despite competing directly with NXT TakeOver, is on track to record the highest attendance figure in the history of ROH. Today, the pavilion, adapted for a total of 5,000 people, has already sold more than 3,000 tickets. The event that holds the current attendance record is Supercard of Honor XI, starring a ladder fight between The Young Bucks and The Hardys, which sold 3,500 tickets.

Different experts believe that this fight between Cody Rhodes and Kenny Omega will be the most media and important in the history of ROH. Throughout its 16 years of history the company has offered great combats with stars of the caliber of Bryan Danielson, Samoa Joe or CM Punk; however, given the popularity of the fighters involved and the Bullet Club as stable, this match has the ability to attract a larger audience. Good proof of this is the number of interactions on Twitter that have awakened the announcement of the fight (1,800 RTs and 4,400 “Like”), well above the usual figures (an average of 100 interactions per tweet ).

Supercard of Honor XII will have the presence of the main wrestlers of ROH and some international stars, such as Hiroshi Tanahashi or Kota Ibushi. Now, during these two months prior to the event, we will have to wait to see which side the members of the Bullet Club play in this peculiar “Civil War”. A priori, The Young Bucks would support Omega and Ibushi, while Marty Scurll and Hangman Page would show loyalty to Cody Rhodes. Before Supercard of Honor, however, there are several NJPW events (New Beginning), ROH (16th Anniversary and Manhattan Mayhem), and joint tours (Honor Rising).
