United Kingdom will host the first ROH International Cup

A new tournament comes to Ring of Honor Wrestling (ROH). The American company announced a few hours ago the celebration of the first International Cup. On the next UK tour ( Honor Re-United ), ROH will present a tournament composed of international matches between wrestlers from the United Kingdom and fighters from the United States.

The first International Cup will be composed of a total of eight fighters. The format of the tournament is direct elimination through individual battles. The first round will feature four fights between wrestlers from the United Kingdom and the United States. From here, depending on who qualifies, the duels may be between wrestlers from the same country.

The confirmed dates for the celebration of the tournament are the following:

• First Round of the International Cup – Honor ReUnited: Edinburgh (August 16)
• Semifinals and Final of the International Cup – Honor Reunited: Doncaster (August 18)

Once the competition is over, the winner of the tournament will receive an opportunity for the ROH World Championship. The lucky one will challenge the champion on Sunday, August 19 at the Honor ReUnited: London event. This combat, as well as the event in full. It will take place in the famous York Hall pavilion.

At the moment ROH has not announced which wrestlers will be part of the tournament. In the last three years, the company has used different British talents, among which Will Ospreay, Marty Scurll, Joe Hendry, Doug Williams or Mark Haskins. The three events of the Honor ReUnited tour will be broadcast live on the official platform of the company, Honor Club.

ROH is promoting this International Cup as the first edition. The company, in its official press release, leaves the door open to future editions. The possibilities that it puts on the table are duels United States vs. Japan, United States vs. Germany or United States vs. Mexico.
