5 Best WWE Fights of the WrestleMania Weekend

Credit: WWE
The WrestleMania weekend, WWE was full of action in the city of New Orleans as it presented on Saturday the NXT TakeOver event: New Orleans as well as on Sunday the biggest sports entertainment show: WrestleMania 34.
Much has been said about the two events mainly WrestleMania which received a lot of criticism about its management. However, from NXT I do not think there’s much to say since it once again lived up to or perhaps even more than the main cast. So in the note, I want to present what in my opinion were the 5 best WWE Fights of the WrestleMania weekend.
5. The Miz (c) vs. Finn Bálor vs. Seth Rollins Intercontinental Championship
The ideal fight, without doubt, to start WrestleMania. A very dynamic contest that although it was not very extensive it left its three participants well since they all managed to bring out the best in themselves. Also, the complementation of the styles gave a better touch, since the acrobatic movements of Bálor and Rollins matched very well with the rude style of the then Intercontinental monarch. Finally, it was “The Architect” who after preventing Bálor from winning was crowned for the first time as Intercontinental Champion and the fact was a very good sense in that way he managed to be the tenth-first Grand Slam fighter with the new format of the company.
4- AJ Styles (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura WWE Championship
I know, this fight attracted a lot of criticism but it was really good. It was only overshadowed by the pace of others and because it took place after more than six hours of the event. The truth is that the dream fight was simply a contest that did not go well. Clearly, he expected much more from both, knowing his quality in the ring, as well as knowing his past fight in NJPW. However, although it has been very criticized, in my opinion, the fight was good and it was worthy of the WWE Championship since, in the short time they had to perform in the ring, they knew how to give good moments as well as both managed to look good by applying varied moved. Something that made the fight look more interesting was what happened after “The Phenomenal” won when Shinsuke Nakamura made his change to rude returning to a side where he was not since his time in NJPW.
3. Six-Man Ladder Match for NXT North American Championship
If WrestleMania got off to a good start with the Intercontinental Championship fight, NXT TakeOver: New Orleans did not stop at all, as Ricochet, Adam Cole, Killian Dain, Lars Sullivan, EC3 and Velveteen Dream gave an excellent welcome to the NXT North American Championship Everyone showed off and had their moments, they combined their styles very well and gave the stairs a good use. It should be noted that this fight was the first televised Ricochet in the company while for EC3 was his return but with a strength completely different from that presented in his first step by NXT. After an extreme fight, it was Adam Cole who picked up the championship.
2- Ronda Rousey and Kurt Angle vs. Stephanie McMahon and Triple H
Few trusted that this fight was good. However, in my opinion, it was the best of last Sunday not only for having marked the debut of Ronda Rousey in WWE but because everyone really did an excellent job in the ring. We have to take into account the little experience of Stephanie in the strings, as well as the limited level that Angle and Hunter have as veterans. The fight started a bit slow, but time went well, it became very interesting, with Ronda Rousey looking like he knew the rings for years. Good moments, different moves and a good pace gave the fight a lot of emotion. One thing to highlight and that was very beneficial for the fight were the attacks between rivals of different sex which with the PG format of the company was not seen for a long time.
1- Johnny Gargano vs. Tommaso Ciampa barbaric Unsanctioned Match
There is no doubt that NXT had the best weekend fight in the company. Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa took their extensive rivalry to the ring in an epic struggle which occurred to perfection who had everything and left many with their mouths open. Even, that race was put over the match by the NXT Championship being the main event last Saturday.
Actually, Gargano and Ciampa are two of the best wrestlers in WWE since the fight was completely fabulous with both performing very well in the ring and making clear their roles: Gargano as the technician who seeks not to be in the nothingness and Ciampa as the rude traitor who wants to ruin everything he sets out to do. The two took the best moves from their repertoire and combined very well to ensure that the fans did not take their eyes off for a moment without needing to use many objects. However, it was Gargano who managed to recover his work in NXT after defeating his former tag team partner and friend.
