AJ Styles will defend the WWE Championship Against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in Triple Threat in Fastlane

Despite waiting for a single contender, this week WWE ended up confirming a stellar triple threat fight for its Fastlane event. During the recent edition of the SmackDown Live program, the fight of AJ Styles vs. Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn was announced officially for the WWE Championship for the Fastlane PPV to be held.

During the Smackdown live, Owens and Zayn faced each other for the right to challenge the title. However, the final moments were not without controversy, as it was seen as Zayn and Owens were disqualified by counting 10 out of the ring, this also due to an attack by Styles in response to Zayn, which also came against Owens.

The announcement came from Daniel Bryan, general manager of the Smackdown live, which clarified the reasons and the fact that this time the fight will be in triple threat. The three fighters had already match in the past Royal Rumble event, at that time in a disadvantage match.

Unlike Royal Rumble, this time Owens and Zayn get visibly upset with each other, so they expect a more individual encounter instead of an unofficial rematch of Styles’ last defense. Fastlane will be held on March 11, 2018, the winner of this match will also face Shinsuke Nakamura at WrestleMania this year.
