The women’s division of SmackDown has a new monarch. Tonight at WWE’s Hell in a Cell PPV, Becky Lynch became the new SmackDown champion after defeating Charlotte Flair.
The former best friends met in what was the second match of the event. Throughout the match, Lynch concentrated on hurting Flair’s left arm which led to some final moments of dominance that seemed to guarantee victory.
In spite of a reaction of Flair that was sent in Spear, Lynch managed to block the movement and cover to the now former champion of unexpected form, gaining, therefore, the championship. After the match, Flair tried to offer his hand to the winner but the Irish refused the gesture and went claiming that this was an exclusive moment for her.
With her victory, Lynch becomes champion for the second time in her WWE career. Both will also face again in the Super Show-Down event this October 6 in a title rematch.
