During the recent edition of SmackDown Live, it has been confirmed a title match between the women’s champion of the blue brand Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair for the TLC PPV. This announcement came after Charlotte intervened in the return of Lynch to the program due to the injury he suffered at the hands of Nia Jax.
SmackDown general manager Paige opened the program by inviting women’s champion Becky Lynch. In the segment, “The Man” commented that she wanted to match in Survivor Series, but she was not allowed due to her eye injury and that she still felt like fighting against RAW women’s champion Ronda Rousey. At this, Charlotte intervened asking for a titular opportunity.
In addition to this, moments later a Battle Royal was scheduled between the members of the SmackDown female roster to determine the third participant in the match for the women’s Championship in the TLC event. It was also possible to announce that the modality of the fight will be the traditional combat of chairs, stairs, and tables as a guideline.
The TLC event will be held on Sunday, December 16 in San Jose, California. Apart from this fight, the fights between Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins for the Intercontinental Championship, Ronda Rousey vs. Nia Jax for the Women’s RAW Championship and Daniel Bryan vs. AJ Styles for the WWE Championship.
