Brock Lesnar responds to Jon Jones’ callout for UFC Super-Fight
After winning Daniel Cormier at UFC 214, John Jones is again at the top as a UFC light heavyweight champion. After that, Jones called former champion Brock Lesnar.
Lesnar has a deal with WWE, and the current universal champion answered in an article issued by The Associated Press.
“Be careful what you wish for, young man,” Lesnar replied. A super-fight between Jones and Lesnar is something UFC reportedly would like to do however there are obstacles. Lesnar must finish serving a one year suspension following two failed drug tests in connection with his fight against Mark Hunt at UFC 200. Lesnar’s suspension was frozen upon his retirement from MMA. He must be placed back in the testing pool for four months before he is able to fight. He was given a testing exemption the last time he fought which ended in two failed drug tests, a suspension and a civil lawsuit filed by his opponent”
“Dana White was in the Octagon last night when Jones called Lesnar out. “It’s fun to talk about, but the reality of it happening anytime soon, it’s not a reality,” White said. Still, Jones is open to the fight if the details can be worked out. “If I’m going to sacrifice being the smaller guy, I think stylistically, Brock [Lesnar] would be a fight that makes more sense,” Jones said. “The payday would be tremendous. The (impact) for our sport would be tremendous. … I feel like Stipe is not known to the general public. Most people don’t really know who he is, no disrespect. A fight against Brock makes more sense”
