Former WWE Universal champion Brock Lesnar had been announced for several weeks to appear in this week’s RAW episode. However, he finally did not have a presence in the show. This has led to several rumors about his current status with WWE.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider gives more details about Lesnar’s situation with WWE. According to reports, WWE’s position with respect to Lesnar is that “the door will always be open” for a future return and the company will be happy to return to work with them.
However, Lesnar’s attention is expected to focus on preparing his career to return to Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) at UFC. It should be remembered that his sanction with USADA, the US anti-doping agency, would end in January 2019, so at the beginning of next year, it is expected to have his return to the octagon.
On his presence in RAW, it has been rumored that Triple H had appeared to replace Lesnar. However, Lesnar’s name was not in any of the versions of the scripts. Finally, even though the company had publicized Lesnar’s presence, he was not expected to be on the show. The fighter returned to his home last Sunday after SummerSlam 2018 in his own private plane.
Sources in the WWE creative area would have confirmed to PWInsider that the Triple H segment was not replaced by Brock. A particular source told PWInsider that if that had been the case, they could have put Paul Heyman on his own doing a promo. Instead, they recorded the confrontation between Paul Heyman and RAW’s General Manager Kurt Angle. The Triple H promo was always present in the scripts with the aim of promoting the importance of the Super Show-Down event.
