Buddy Murphy and Mustafa Ali will face each other for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship at Survivor Series
A starting match has been confirmed for the WWE Survivor Series event. Through its social networks, the company officially announced the match for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship in which Buddy Murphy will defend his title against the challenger Mustafa Ali.
The match will come to revive the rivalry between the two superstars, who were facing from the very beginning of Murphy in the 205 Live show. This time Murphy will be defending his cruiserweight title for the first time, before a challenger who also has overcome obstacles to compete within the WWE rings.
With this announcement, the match remains until now as the only one where there will be no confrontation between the RAW and SmackDown brands. In addition, representatives of WWE’s cruiserweight division will once again see action in a large WWE PPV after their last participation in SummerSlam.
The Cruiserweight champion Murphy will arrive after his titular victory in Super Show-Down, where he managed to finish a solid and long reign of Cedric Alexander to be crowned monarch of the cruiserweight in his native Australia. Ali for his part, after having managed to obtain the right to challenge the championship after defeating Hideo Itami, and having overcome some health problems, will go for the title he has been pursuing for some time.
