Charlotte Flair beat Becky Lynch and Carmella in the triple threat match to become the new SmackDown women’s champion at SummerSlam. Flair achieved the victory in a match with an intense ending that was decided for the 7 times champion. Becky Lynch was applying the Disarmor on Carmella when Charlotte appeared to attack with the Natural Selection and take the victory by the count of three.
After the fight, Becky Lynch recognized the victory of Flair and both embraced, but the Irish hit her with a punch followed by an intense attack, thus performing a heel turn. However, despite appearing to be the bad of the situation, the public supported Becky Lynch at all times, before and after the attack, even came to boo Charlotte Flair.
