Finn Bálor defeats Bobby Lashley and Lio Rush to become the new Intercontinental Champion at Elimination Chamber 2019
In the recent Pay-Per-View WWE Elimination Chamber, a handicap match was held for the Intercontinental Championship. Champion Bobby Lashley and teammate Lio Rush faced superstar Finn Bálor, with Balor the winner and the NEW Intercontinental Champion.
The match counted on the peculiarity of being in a disadvantage since Lio Rush made equipment with Bobby Lashley to confront the challenger, Finn Bálor. In the last moments of the fight, Bálor took advantage of the fact that Lashley was in ringside to apply Coup of Grace on Rush and thus take the victory via pinfall, meaning the first Intercontinental Championship in the Bálor race. After the match, Lashley attacked Rush.

Weeks ago, Finn Bálor had a starting chance for the WWE Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble event where he was completely defeated by still-champion Brock Lesnar. When trying to give his words in the RAW program the following week, he was attacked by Bobby Lashley.
After what happened, both superstars have been involved in different disputes, highlighting the victory of Finn Bálor over Lio Rush in one of the weekly programs of Monday Night Raw. Faced with this achievement, Lashley gave Bálor a starting chance, but with the condition of being a disadvantaged bout.
