The news portal Wrestling Inc has reported exclusively that the FOX network very interested in Ronda Rousey being part of SmackDown when the WWE show becomes part of its grid in October 2019. Rousey is a world-renowned athlete and FOX understands that with it in their programs they will be able to sell much more publicity.
During the last weeks, it has been rumored that FOX has asked WWE to have a more sporting environment for their programs. That means that the competition in the matches will be more important than the stories, although this does not mean 100% that it will happen. In this case, Ronda Rousey would be a competitor who would fit very well in the women’s division of WWE’s blue show.
This is the first request that FOX would have made to WWE for its new SmackDown show, and it is rumored that Daniel Cormier, current UFC world heavyweight champion, could land on the commentator’s table. Cormier has not yet been able to audition because he fought Derrick Lewis earlier this month on the UFC 230 show, but he is scheduled to start practicing very soon.
Ronda Rousey has been announced to appear in WWE TLC, an event that will take place on December 16 in California, where she will defend the Raw Women’s Championship against Nia Jax. Rousey expected to face Becky Lynch at Wrestlemania 35, although as of that moment there are no more plans for her. Rousey said recently that her intention in WWE was to fulfill a year of the contract, but her mentality would have changed in recent months and expected to renew her agreement to join the company for another year.
