John Cena will appear on SmackDown Live next week

A few moments ago WWE confirmed through its website that John Cena will appear on SmackDown Live next week, returning for the show that will be held from Pittsburgh.

Recall that Vince McMahon confirmed the return of Cena on Monday Night RAW transmissions held yesterday. However, it was not until today that the appearance of the leader of the Cenation in front of the WWE cameras became official on January 1, 2019.

The 16-time world champion will open a new year of programming for the company in what will be his first official appearance since the Super Show-Down PPV held in early October in which he joined Bobby Lashley to defeat to the team of Kevin Owens and Elias.

Despite Cena’s insistence on the media that it would only compete again in non-televised events, the company finally chose to announce its first appearance on SmackDown Live since last March. After his defeat in Elimination Chamber, Cena used his free agent privilege to return to the blue show at the end of February, and join the WWE Championship clash that took place in Fastlane, where he was defeated along with Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Baron Corbin and Dolph Ziggler before, at that time, champion AJ Styles.
