New York Will Welcome Wrestlemania 35
WWE already looking for a location for WrestleMania 35 a few months after celebrating the 34th edition in the New Orleans Super-Dome, and the main favorite is the MetLife Stadium in the state of New Jersey, in the New York metropolitan area.
According to Brad Shepard, a Bleacher Reporter on his podcast “Backstage in WWE”, the company will have reached an agreement to hold WrestleMania 35 at MetLife Stadium, where WrestleMania 29 was already held a few years ago. Although the company has not yet has confirmed the headquarters until the days before the next Wrestlemania (April 8), as Shepard explains, everything will be closed.
WrestleMania is one of the sports events best valued worldwide by the specialized press. This is the main reason why cities compete every year to host the event, which generates large amounts of money in sectors such as hospitality or catering.
WWE will return to New York to celebrate its biggest event of the year. However, the company has only held WrestleMania five times in the New York metropolitan area. WrestleMania 1, a part of 2, 10 and 20, in Madison Square Garden, and WrestleMania 29 in the mentioned field.
The Metlife Stadium is one of the largest fields in the United States, with a capacity for 82,500 people and is located specifically in East Rutherford, in the metropolitan area of New York. The stadium is home to the two New York NFL teams: the Giants and the Jets. The stadium already hosted Wrestlemania 29 in 2013, with an audience of more than 80,000 spectators.
