Roderick Strong will face Pete Dunne for the UK WWE Championship

NXT superstar Roderick Strong became the number one challenger to the UK WWE Championship. Strong defeated former UK champion Tyler Bate to get the starting chance.

Before the NXT Takeover: Philadelphia broadcasts began last week, it had been announced that the young English fighter Tyler Bate would face a hand-to-hand fight against veteran wrestler Roderick Strong. The veteran fighter managed to defeat the young Bate, in a battle that was aired this week on NXT by WWE Network. The date when Strong will face current champion Pete Dunne is not yet announced.

Roderick Strong is the third fighter of American origin who gets an opportunity for the championship of the United Kingdom. The American fighters Kassius Ohno and Johnny Gargano faced Pete Dunne without success.
