Roman Reigns becomes the new Universal champion at SummerSlam 2018
Roman Reigns beat Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam to become the new Universal Champion. The events occurred in the main event of the show, although it was not exactly an individual match that we witnessed.
Before starting the match, Braun Strowman made an appearance and announced the redemption of his briefcase Money in The Bank after the match between the two. Strowman did not use any sneaky tactics because he said he did not want to “trade the contract like a coward.”
However, during the match, Brock Lesnar took advantage of a spear from Reigns to step back and make an impact on Strowman. After this, Brock Lesnar knocked out Strowman with the F5, followed by several chair shots.
Lesnar climbed into the ring with the chair but was surprised by the Spear of Roman Reigns who was placed on top to take the victory by the count of three. In this way, Roman Reigns gets the first victory of his career against Brock Lesnar and his first Universal Championship ending with a reign of “the Beast” of 504 days.
The play went very wrong to Lesnar and very well to Roman Reigns because after beating “The Beast”, Strowman did not have time to react and exchange the briefcase Money in The Bank. Roman Reigns closed the show celebrating before the fans.
If you don’t keep a BEAST, a BIG DOG, and a MONSTER separated… the result looks a little something like this! #SummerSlam @WWERomanReigns @BraunStrowman @BrockLesnar pic.twitter.com/2xLYCcyYtA
