Seth Rollins defeated Dolph Ziggler in the SummerSlam opener to become the new WWE Intercontinental Champion. “The Architect” appeared accompanied by Dean Ambrose while Dolph Ziggler did the same with Drew McIntyre. Both had to see a lot in the final moments of the match because their fight at ringside caused some dismissal by the two fighters.
In the final moments, Dean Ambrose applied the Dirty Deeds on Drew McIntyre at ringside. Dolph Ziggler tried to take advantage of Seth’s distraction but “The Architect” stopped him with a Superkick followed by Curb Stomp to take the victory by the count of three.
This is the second time that Seth Rollins has won the Intercontinental Championship. His first ostentation lasted 71 days. For his part, Dolph Ziggler ends a 58-day streak as champion.
This bout was announced a few weeks ago on Monday Night Raw after Seth Rollins received a new opportunity from General Manager Kurt Angle. Rollins lost the championship on June 18, 2018, to Ziggler thanks in part to Drew McIntyre and has since tried to get it back. In the last edition of Monday Night Raw, Dean Ambrose returned to the action presenting himself as the support of Seth Rollins in SummerSlam.
