SmackDown Live commissioner Shane McMahon will be away from television for a while, according to journalist Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio. McMahon, however, remains on the list of fighters and characters of the company.
Three reasons are those that Meltzer alleges the non-appearance of the McMahon’s eldest son: the first is the lack of plans on the part of WWE creatives. The second, related to the first, is because the company’s managers are very happy with the role of Paige as general manager and want to do a solo push to continue building his character.
Finally, the third reason is that, recently, Shane has gone through the operating room. McMahon has undergone a herniated disc operation that keeps him away from the company and at full rest.
The company, as the journalist explains, is reserving it for a special occasion to return to the ring and to television. Shane McMahon does not appear in any show since The Greatest Royal Rumble.
