Shinsuke Nakamura Retains the United States Championship at SummerSlam 2018
Tonight, the WWE company held the SummerSlam event, the most important day for wrestling in North America. In the last match of the night for the SmackDown brand, Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Jeff Hardy to retain the United States Championship.
The fight ended with a Kinshasa by Nakamura who found an opportunity against an almost defeated opponent, hurt on his back after being brutally beaten against the edge of the ring. At the end of the meeting, Randy Orton was present with the intention of attacking the defeated Hardy with whom he has problems since the Extreme Rules, however, he repented and left the stage.
This rivalry began during the series of clashes between the Japanese and the WWE champion AJ Styles. In an episode of SmackDown Live, Nakamura defeated Hardy and continued to attack him as a way to send a message to his rival of the moment. When “The Rockstar” was defeated by his rival in turn, he went directly for “The Charismatic Enigma” and defeated him for the US championship with a fast Kinshasa.
In this way, Nakamura defends his title for the first time in what was his second title match as champion. The first also against Hardy ended with a disqualification and victory for the American. Interestingly, this is the only masculine fight for a SmackDown title that ended without a disqualification.
