SmackDown Live: AJ Styles Retains the WWE Championship against Daniel Bryan
During the broadcast of the recent SmackDown Live show, Blue Brand Commissioner Shane McMahon made his comeback to interrupt AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan in the opening segment of the night. McMahon instantly reported a fight between the two with the WWE Championship at stake. Of which it resulted like winner AJ Styles retaining the title.
The fight culminated with AJ Styles applying his Calf Crusher to take victory over Bryan via surrender. In the last moments, Styles paid his respects to Bryan, but they were interrupted by Samoa Joe who attacked Styles and applied a Coquina Clutch to Daniel Bryan to leave both of them lying in the ring.

It should be remembered that AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan would face off for the WWE Championship in WWE Crown Jewel. Bryan won the opportunity to face the champion after defeating The Miz in the WWE Super Show-Down event. For weeks they have cemented a rivalry with several bulky encounters that, apparently, culminated with the fight on Tuesday.
WWE Crown Jewel will be held on November 2 at King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. After multiple controversies surrounding the event due to the death of journalist Jamal Khashoggi in the hands of the Arab regime in Turkey. The match for the WWE Championship was initially scheduled between AJ Styles against Daniel Bryan, however, the latter would have expressed his desire not to participate in the event.
