WWE
Wrestlers confirmed so far for WWE Men’s Royal Rumble 2020
The WWE Royal Rumble is an annual pay per view pro wrestling event that happens in January each year, since 1988. It is counted amongst the original and most important four pay-per-view events that are conducted by the WWE, alongside Survivor Series, Summer Slam and Wrestlemania. Together, these are known as the ‘Big Four’.
The WWE Royal Rumble’s 2020 edition is scheduled to begin on January 26 this year. It will be held at Houston’s Minute Maid Park, in Texas. The men’s match list is almost filled to the half level, with a good number of confirmed participants. Going by the odds offered by various online and off-line bookmakers, including the likes of Bellagio sportsbook, Roman Reigns is a clear favourite to win the event for the second time. The recent episode of WWE Raw took the total number of confirmed male participants to 18. The figure leaves the event with 12 unconfirmed spots, which are expected to fill up pretty soon during the Smackdown.
List of confirmed Male participants
While it would be too much to expect all the 30 spots getting confirmed before the start of the show, as WWE always keeps some room for surprise entries at the last moment, particularly from the NXT or legend ranks. Below we take you through the list of all the confirmed participants in the Men’s Royal Rumble match:
- Randy Orton
- Brock Lesnar
- Rey Mysterio
- Roman Reigns
- Erick Rowan
- Drew McIntyre
- AJ Styles
- Aleister Black
- Ricochet
- Tucker
- Otis
- King Baron Corbin
- Elias
- Dolph Ziggler
- R-Truth
- Bobby Lashley
- Rusev
- Buddy Murphy
Brock Lesnar will make an entry in the match as no. 1. Many are expecting him to actually open the event. It should be noted that the man entering Royal Rumble at number 1 has gone on to win it only on two occasions in the history of the event. Apparently, WWE is working on setting up Brock Lesnar’s feud for WrestleMania, and will lay the foundation for it in the upcoming Royal Rumble.
Drew McIntyre is a big name that has made it to this confirmed list. His push had reached another level during WWE Raw when he had won his triple threat match against AJ Styles and Randy Orton. Him featuring as the main attraction is something that has been pending for a long time. In fact, he could be the favourite to win this Royal Rumble, with fans looking in a completely wrong direction. Regardless, it does make sense for him to emerge as a winner.
Aleister Black is another pro-wrestler who has been on the rise. Post his last month’s domination over Buddy Murphy, courtesy an exciting feud, Aleister Black is being primed for another push on the WWE food chain. Many perceive him as a dark horse who if nothing, will definitely have an important say in the outcome of the match.
