The first TakeOver of the WWE British division will be where the British division began, the Empress Ballroom of Blackpool, with a capacity of about 3,000 audiences. That gave rise to the first edition of the WWE UK tournament. The tickets for this first show will go on sale next Monday.
Not only has this been announced, but NXT UK will also make recordings for the weekly program on the 12th and 13th of January. During the last days, the rumor already ran on the celebration of the first great event of the division very soon. This announcement has been made during the recordings that NXT UK is doing right now from Liverpool Olympia.
The first bout announced will be for the NXT UK women’s championship. The current women’s champion, Rhea Ripley, will defend the belt in Blackpool against Toni Storm. Both fighters met in the final of the tournament to choose the first champion with a victory of Ripley after an injury to Toni Storm.
The second match will be the grand final to choose the first NXT UK tag team champions. At the moment, there are only one of the confirmed participants: Mustache Mountain (Trent Seven and Tyler Bate) will be in that fight. The other opponent will be decided tomorrow in the second round of recordings in Liverpool.
The third confirmed match is for the UK WWE Championship. Pete Dunne will defend his belt against Joe Coffey after the latest events in previous programs. Another one of the combats, but not confirmed in this occasion, could be the Jordan Devlin against Travis Banks.
