WWE would have considered several candidates for the position in recent months
Yesterday, the specialized news outlet The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, shared information about WWE’s plans to have a general manager at 205 Live. According to the report, former WWE superstar Summer Rae was considered as a candidate for the position, before being fired by the company.
The journalist Dave Meltzer, revealed that the company has considered adding a general manager at 205 Live for several months, and were waiting for the approval of Vince McMahon. One of the names that was considered for the position was that of Summer Rae, in fact, WWE communicated the idea to him before his dismissal. Apparently, the reason why Rae was not named as general manager of the cruise division, is because the company felt that she would be taller than most of the division’s competitors.
It is worth mentioning that last Tuesday Daniel Bryan made a special appearance at 205 Live, to announce that next week a new general manager will make his debut in the program. In addition, the new authority will be responsible for defining the future of the Cruiserweight Championship, after becoming vacant due to the dismissal of Enzo Amore, who until then was the champion.
