According to the journalist Dave Meltzer in the last newsletter of Wrestling Obserber, WWE is interested in broadcasting content from the British companies ICW (Insane Championship Wrestling) and PROGRESS on WWE Network. At the moment, both parties are still negotiating to reach an agreement but they could agree on the final details during the next weeks.
Dave Meltzer has indicated that to reach an agreement, the announcement could be carried out officially in the United Kingdom Championship Tournament to be held on June 18 at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The first round of the tournament will take place on June 8, 9 and 10 as part of the Download Festival, a show in which WWE has been going for three years with the NXT development territory. The eight fighters who emerge victorious from these clashes will advance to the final phase to be held in London.
It should be noted that ICW and PROGRESS have their own online broadcasting platforms. ICW issues its content in FITE TV and PROGRESS issues in its online platform. WWE has a very good relationship with both companies and proof of this is the number of fighters that will compete in the Tournament for the UK Championship.
