WWE Issues an Official Statement After the Arrest of Jey Uso

A few hours ago we reported that the WWE SmackDown Live wrestler and SmackDown Tag Team Champion, Jey Uso (real name Joshua Fatu), was arrested last weekend. The fighter was arrested last Sunday, January 14, after police confirmed that he was driving under the influence of alcohol after a live event held in Hidalgo, Texas.

WWE has issued a statement talking about the wrestler’s situation. Although it has not been revealed if there will be a final sanction against Fatu, it has been reported that the company will investigate to find out what happened. For now, they will continue to wait for more official information, which will be available in the next few hours. We leave you with the WWE statement:

” Joshua Fatu is responsible for his personal actions, we are investigating the facts and waiting for information from the local security agents.”

The superstar of SmackDown was sent to prison with bail of $ 500 but left after a few hours. At the moment, there are no more details of what happened. Initially, this incident would have no relation to the WWE Welfare Policy, as long as the wrestler has informed the company of what happened. These types of actions do not usually affect wrestlers’ contracts, but we’ll have to wait to see if WWE decides to suspend it for 30 days.

The Usos defended the SmackDown Couples Championships last Sunday in Higalgo and the next day they were for the live WWE show in Corpus Christi. For now, it is unknown if WWE will keep him away from the televivas retransmissions. Recall that Jey and Jimmy Uso will face Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable in a 3-game bout for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships at Royal Rumble on January 28. Jey Uso is still announced to appear on the SmackDown show to be held tonight in Laredo, TX.
