WWE Raw and SmackDown Live will be taped for Christmas and New Year
WWE will not work for Christmas holidays. As reported by Dave Meltzer on the last radio show of the Wrestling Observer, the programs of Raw and SmackDown that fall on Christmas Eve as on New Year’s Eve will be taped for broadcast those holidays.
It had been rumored that this would be done due to the great controversy that was last year in which Raw was broadcast live on Christmas Eve and finally will be like that. The company plans to tap Monday Night Raw Christmas on December 17 in Sacramento, taping it after the corresponding live show.
Similarly, it will happen with SmackDown Live. WWE will do the corresponding program in Fresno on December 18 and will record the Christmas Day episode immediately after the live program.
The novelty of this year in the programs of these Christmas dates that the programs corresponding to New Year’s Eve will also be taped. The website of the Little Caesar’s Arena in Detroit is announced that WWE will tap a new Monday Night Raw program on December 28. For SmackDown Live it’s the same: it would be taped on Dec 29 from the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh.
Regarding the tapings that are made of Main Event and 205 Live, which are always done after the live programs, WWE still does not know where they will be placed so that their corresponding taping made.
