The company Cynopsis Media has celebrated its sixth gala of delivery of the Model D prizes, awarded to the most outstanding contents in the field of online video. WWE received awards in the category of Best Program or Live Event Related to Sport and Best Host in a Web Series Related to Sport.
Specifically, the first of the awards, the one in the category of Best Program or Live Event Related to Sport, was awarded to the Mixed Match Challenge, the mixed couples tournament broadcast via Facebook. In this field, WWE won over programs such as Live At The Finals on NBA TV or Boston Major Grand Finals on Turner Sports.
On the other hand, the award for Best Host in a Web Series related to Sport was received by Xavier Woods thanks to his YouTube channel, UpUpDownDown, dedicated to video games. The former SmackDown tag team Champion competed for the award with figures such as Casey Stern of NBA TV, Gerard Piqué of The Player’s Tribune and even Cathy Kelley of WWE Now, the WWE series on YouTube that is dedicated to reporting the latest news.
This is not the first time that WWE receives an award of these characteristics, and is that it has already received several Model D awards in the galas of 2016 and 2017. Regarding this year’s edition, WWE was also nominated in the categories of Best Video Application (WWE App), Best On-Demand Video Service (WWE Network), Outstanding Team of the Year (WWE digital team), Best Series Web of a Brand (Southpaw Regional Wrestling), Best YouTube Channel of Specific Category (UpUpDownDown), Best Web Video of Sports (WWE Chronicle), Best Weekly Series (WWE Now), Best Original YouTube Channel (WWE channels and The Bella Twins) and Canal with more Commitment from their Followers (WWE profile on Instagram).
