WWE SummerSlam 2019 will be held in Canada
WWE will make the next edition of SummerSlam from Canada. The company has made it official through ET Canada, revealing that SummerSlam 2019 and the four days that will make up the SummerSlam weekend will be held from Saturday, August 10 to Tuesday, August 13, taking place from the Scotiabank Arena from Toronto, Canada.
The four days of WWE events will take place from the same arena, with NXT Takeover being held on the 10th, SummerSlam on the 11th, RAW on the 12th and SmackDown Live on the 13th. In addition to the usual programming, a festival will be held in the city. fans during the week, celebrating a SummerSlam Axxess with activities and programs from the Metro Toronto Convention Center.
WWE executive vice president for special events John Saboor has spoken about the company’s decision to celebrate SummerSlam from Canada.
“We are thrilled to bring WWE’s biggest event of the summer back to Toronto,” said John Saboor, WWE executive vice-president, special events, in a statement. “We look forward to working with our partners at Tourism Toronto and Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment to build a blueprint that welcomes our global fan base to the great city of Toronto.”
WWE had previously held SummerSlam in Toronto, being the last time in 2004 from the Air Canada Center (now renamed to Scotiabank Arena.) The last four years WWE has held SummerSlam from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, but that city will already host WrestleMania 35 next year.
