Podcasts are becoming a popular source of multimedia content, and it appears that WWE are jumping on the bandwagon.
As first announced by the Hollywood Reporter, WWE have announced that they’ll be partnering with Endeavor Audio to launch a brand-new WWE Podcast Network with ‘several superstar-focused series’.
Endeavor already has an existing relationship with WWE as their back-end provider for the WWE Network. Their audio branch have produced podcasts on a variety of different topics including the Bellas Podcast hosted by the recently retired Bella Twins, Brie and Nikki.
Details on the lineup are yet to be revealed, but fans are already providing their suggestions:
I for one want the Drake Maverick Podcast where he gives daily updates on whether he’s consummated his marriage yet or not— Hairy Wrestling Fan (@hairywrestling) August 22, 2019
Give AJ Styles a conspiracy theory podcast where he explains why the world is flat— Kevin Thang (@Skip2MyJays) August 22, 2019
Some of the more popular podcasts hosted by wrestling legends such as ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, Chris Jericho, Edge & Christian and Sean Waltman have offered fans a glimpse into the life of a professional wrestler. With WWE’s announcement, it’ll be interesting to see whether their podcasts with a similar approach or have a watered-down storyline feel to their network.
