WWE Wrestlemania 36: Preview by Felix Pichler

Even though the greatest event of the year already got tapped, I haven’t been spoilered yet and share with you my opinion on all matches which are confirmed.

“The Kabuki Warriors” Kairi Sane & Asuka (C.) vs. Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships

Not much to say about this match as the tag titles of the women receive not that much attention. Due to that, it wouldn’t mean that much if the titles change hands, but I hope this will happen to bring back some freshness in the title picture.

Prediction: Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross

Otis vs. Dolph Ziggler

We don’t need spoilers to know what will happen. Even though Dolph Ziggler will work unfair as usual, Otis will win this match and likely get Mandy Rose. However, does WWE tell their audience that in 2020 you win a woman if you beat up someone else?

Prediction: Otis

Aleister Black vs. Bobby Lashley (w/ Lana)

A bad build-up for a match which could be interesting. However, if Aleister Black doesn’t get the win, I think I have to cancel the WWE Network.

Prediction: Aleister Black

Elias vs. King Corbin

A king who lost within the last few months several times to Roman Reigns against a man who received almost no attention in the last time. I have no idea what Vince thought when he put that on the schedule and I also have no idea who will get the win.

Prediction: Elias

“Street Profits” Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford (C.) vs. Austin Theory & Angel Garza (w/ Zelina Vega)

What the hell happened here? Why is Austin Theory in a title match at WrestleMania while he isn’t able to get two straight wins on NXT. Well, everything else except a title defence would be shocking.

Prediction: Street Profits

The Miz &  John Morrison (C.) vs. “The New Day” Kofi Kingston & Big E vs. “The Usos” Jimmy Uso & Jey Uso in a Triple Threat Ladder Match for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships

I’m really confused. I thought that this match wouldn’t take place since the Miz is ill, but we can still see it like this on the official website of the WWE. Due to that, I won’t give a prediction. 

Prediction: –

Sami Zayn (C.) vs. Daniel Bryan for the Intercontinental Championship

Basically, this can be and will be a hell of a match between two outstanding athletes. The only weird thing is that Daniel Bryan didn’t earn this match by himself, but Drew Gulak is responsible for that. Still, this will be great, and, in the end, Sami Zayn will remain champ with the aid of Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro.

Prediction: Sami Zayn.

Rhea Ripley (C.) vs. Charlotte Flair for the NXT Women’s Championship

Rhea Ripley is awesome and Charlotte Flair proved that she can be great as long as you give her a new and fresh opponent. Due to that, this feud was a great idea and the match will also be entertaining. I don’t think that they will send Charlotte back to NXT and because of that Ripley will defend what is a major push for her after defeating Shayna Baszler.

Prediction: Rhea Ripley

Bayley (C.) vs. Sasha Banks vs. Lacey Evans vs. NAOMI vs. Tamina Fatal 5-Way Elimination Match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship

So, Lacey Evans and Naomi had each a title shot within the last time and Tamina did exactly nothing to be in this match. Now, can somebody explain to me why they didn’t just let Sasha Banks turn against her best friend, and we have a one-on-one match? This is ridiculous. Also, this is no spoiler, but Banks and Bayley will be the last two women in the ring and what then happens will be really interesting. I hope that Banks wins and we get a feud between these two women.

Prediction: Sasha Banks

Becky Lynch (C.) vs. Shayna Baszler for the Raw Women’s Championship

I’m not sure what will happen in this match. Lynch is the biggest star of the whole women’s division of the WWE and holds this title now for one year while Shayna Baszler had an incredible build-up. I’m looking forward to this, but I have no idea what will happen. Anyways, I hope that Baszler wins it and Lynch is changing after that something to be fresher again.

Prediction: Shayna Baszler

Edge vs. Randy Orton in a Last Man Standing Match

This is the highlight of WrestleMania 36 in my eyes. Two great wrestlers, a great feud and a great build-up towards this match. Edge will go over as everything else would make no sense. However, these two will show off a great match and we’ll see on which level Edge is.

Prediction: Edge

John Cena vs. “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt in a Firefly Fun House Match

I have no idea what a Firefly Fun House Match is and usually, I would be scared that it is shit, but since Bray Wyatt is involved and his ideas are great, I expect this to be a good match. I think that Wyatt will go over as he needs the win more than John Cena.

Prediction: Bray Wyatt

The Undertake vs. AJ Styles

This match will be interesting to watch as AJ Styles is an amazing in-ring athlete while the Undertaker should retire. Yes, he is an outstanding character, but his time is over (as we saw in the match against Goldberg). However, the Undertaker will surely win as he also destroyed Styles at Super ShowDown and Elimination Chamber.

Prediction: The Undertaker

Seth Rollins vs. Kevin Owens

If Akam, Rezar and Murphy don’t interrupt, this fight could be extremely interesting. Both men are great wrestlers and due to that, I expect this to be a solid match. However, it’s hard to pick a winner in this match as it would help both men.

Prediction: Kevin Owens

Goldberg (C.) vs. Braun Strowman (instead of Roman Reigns) for the Universal Championship

I have absolutely no idea why they still promote this match with Roman Reigns even though everybody knows that he isn’t part of it. Still, I expect Braun Strowman to win this fight since it was surely planned that Goldberg loses his title at WrestleMania 36. Considering this, it doesn’t matter if he loses it to Strowman or Reigns since both just got the title match without doing anything for it. Besides, I think that this will help Strowman to get more over.

Prediction: Braun Strowman

Brock Lesnar (C.) vs. Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship

In this match, it would make no sense to let Brock Lesnar win as Drew McIntyre had a build-up like we haven’t seen it in a while. However, it will interesting to see how these two work together and how long the match goes.

Prediction: Drew McIntyre

Conclusion

All in all, this WrestleMania 36 match card has some interesting matches on it and others are just horrible. Anyways, it will be a bit weird without the fans and additionally, it’s for the first time split into two shows. However, I’m looking forward to it and hope you do too.
