WWE has the opportunity to right a wrong

On this week’s episode of Raw, WWE announced that the largest Tag Team Turmoil Match in history to determine “The Best Tag Team in the World” will take place at Crown Jewel on Thursday, October 31st. The teams listed are The New Day, The Viking Raiders, Heavy Machinery, Lucha House Party, Zack Ryder, and Curt Hawkins, The Revival, The O.C., Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode, and The B-Team.

At last year’s Crown Jewel spectacle, during the finals of “The Best in the World Tournament,” Shane McMahon replaced The Miz who suffered an ankle injury preventing him to compete. We all know how that ended, turning the entire tournament into a sad joke.

This year, WWE needs to avoid having an enhancement team such as The B-Team or Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins win the trophy and make a mockery of the event. In my opinion, what would make the tournament more intriguing would be if AOP attacks either enhancement team backstage and takes their place.

A little over a month ago, Akam and Rezar (AOP) returned appearing as Hitmen while giving a history lesson of “Who is AOP” written in pain.

Over the next several weeks both monsters would demonstrate the way they know best, beating up wrestlers backstage. We have yet to see Akam and Rezar make their in-ring tournament and if WWE wants to position them as a serious threat then winning The Best Tag Team in the World is the perfect way to accomplish that.

Now that The War Raiders are the Raw Tag Team Champions after defeating Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler on this week’s episode of Raw, the perfect tag team to step up to them, in my opinion, should be AOP. The former NXT tag team champions have been in dire need of a reset and perhaps bulldozing through the competition on October 31st can do that.

For the first time in a long time the Raw tag team division actually has a “legitimate” tandem holding the gold and maybe just maybe the tag team division can be finally be taken seriously as opposed to the running joke it has become over the past few years. I would be all for seeing The AOP and The Viking Raiders beat the holy hell out of each other over the Raw Tag Team Championships.
